Foundation Day of DAV Celebrated

Amritsar, May 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road celebrated the auspicious day of June 1, PUNJ3105201911the day when the first DAV School was founded in 1886 with great zeal. The first DAV School was established as a tribute to the founder of Arya Samaj, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. Since then DAV Institutions have flourished all over the world and today they are enlightening the masses with over 900 schools, 75 Colleges and a University. The students of the school prepared a special morning assembly in which they paid homage to the great visionary, scholar, social activist and reformer, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. A Havan was organised on this occasion. They showed their reverence to him for showing them the path of truth, selfless service and knowledge that is not shadowed by superstition and social evils. They also enacted an excerpt from his awe inspiring life. The students read out his inspiring life history, recited poems and sang songs in praise of DAV. In the end the students pledged to walk on the path shown by Swami ji and imbibe the ten tenets of Arya Samaj in their life.

Regional Officer Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar sent their best wishes to the students on this occasion. They urged them to work diligently and with dedication to make DAV Institutions proud all over the world.

Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school, while addressing the students said that DAV has given the country many leaders, enterpreneurs , scientists, doctors, engineers etc of world repute, who have contributed positively towards the growth of the country. She said that she expected the same from her students. She encouraged them to excel in all the activities and bring laurels to the DAV Family.
