Amritsar, Nov. 10 (Dharminder Rataul) – Making first of its kind move, the historic Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) has decided to host maiden `International Alumni Meet’ on December 22. A high level meeting in this regard was held on college campus, following which the decision was taken to invite ex-students of the college from around the world, honour them and provide them an opportunity to interact and revive old memories at their alma mater.
Principal, Dr.Mehal Singh said that organizing committee has already chalked out the schedule. He said the invitation would be sent to alumni residing in foreign countries as well as in India. Another important decision was made that an alumna would be appointed coordinator in each and every country where there the old students of Khalsa College are residing. In this Meet different programs related to Punjabi Culture, Traditional and Martial Art Gatka would be organized, said he.
Apart from holding the Welcome and Interactive Session, a fair would be a organized to depict Punjabi Heritage and Culture. KCA has a rich educational and heritage history of 122 years and there is a great number of alumni having, national and international fame. “The objective of the fair is to provide an opportunity to alumni to share their sweet memories’’, said Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina.
