Cancer awareness lecture for families at  Flaming Arrow Brigade (Khasa)

Khasa (Amritsar), 4 February (Punjab Post Bureau) – Word cancer day is celebrated each year on 4th  Feb to spread awareness among people about the disease.  The theme for this year is ‘Closing the Gap in Cancer Care’.  We are living in a time of awe inspiring advancements in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment and inspite of that, there exists a gap, both economic and social in the cancer care available to people of different social strata.

Keeping in view the prevalent COVID pandemic, an online webinar on cancer care was organized by ‘Flaming Arrow Brigade’ of Vajra Corps. The webinar was organised on the most common type of cancer in ladies, that is cervical cancer.  A detailed presentation was organised by Medical Officers of 2023 Field Hospital on the causes, symptoms, examination, diagnostic tools and treatment modalities for early detection and timely management of cervical cancer, for all the families of Flaming Arrow Brigade. This was followed by an interactive session in which queries of the participants about this cancer were addressed. The webinar was attended by a large number of families and was a great learning experience for all.
