Khalsa College Signs MoU with ISDC for Skill Enhancement

Amritsar, May 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Khalsa College Amritsar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) to enhance skill development amongst the commerce graduates. The MoU was signed between Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal, Khalsa College Amritsar and Shone Babu, Head of Partnerships, ISDC.

                 Under this program, the College will offer a three-year undergraduate programme accredited by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK and Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) USA. The course will focus on providing students with necessary skills and knowledge across accounting, finance and management related disciplines.

                     The students of the college will be able to take advantage of exclusive paper exemptions for ACCA and scholarship for CMA as a result of the ACCA and CMA integrated programmes, said Dr. Mehal Singh adding that ACCA was one of the world’s most prestigious qualifications in the field of financial accounting that equips the students with the skills, knowledge and values to have successful careers

                 Through intensive training sessions, the three-year B.Com in International Finance Programme accredited by ACCA will ensure that students gain in-depth understanding of industry-oriented financial and analytical tools, strategies, and management at an international level, as well as provide them with access to the skills set and expertise necessary to find, evaluate, and resolve the global industry-centric issues, said he.

                  “We are enthusiastic and happy about our partnership with ISDC, which is designed to provide ACCA and CMA qualifications to our students. Our students will certainly benefit from this globally recognized qualification”, said he. He also appreciated the whole-hearted efforts of Dr.Arvinder Kaur Kahlon, Dean & Head (Commerce) and Dr. Ajay Sehgal Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce for achieving this milestone for the College. Dr. Taminder Singh, Dean Academics thanked Shone Babu and Nikhil Sharma from ISDC for initiating and successfully finalizing the process of MoU.
