Arms license holders are required to obtain Unique Identification

Amritsar, May 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – As per rule 54 (6) of the Arms Rules, 1962, all the arms licence holders are required to obtain the Unique Identification Number (UIN) generated by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs before 01.10.2015. Any arms license not bearing the UIN shall be treated as invalid w.e.f. 01.10.2015.

          The arms licence holders falling under the jurisdiction of Commissionerate of Police Amritsar are requested  to get the UIN Stickers pasted on their arms license books immediately from the Arms Licensing Branch. For any difficulty in obtaining the UIN stickers, the licensees may approach office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amritsar. This service is being provided free of cost to all the licensees.
