Amritsar, Aug 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Department of Zoology of BBK DAV College for Women organized a workshop on Application of Optical Physics in Clinical Diagnostics. This workshop was sponsored by U.G.C. (Community College Scheme) and DBT, New Delhi. The workshop was attended by the students enrolled in Diploma in Clinical Diagnostic Techniques and B.Sc medical students. Dr.Bindiya Arora, Assistant Professor Department of Physics, G.N.D.U, Amritsar acted as the resource person for this workshop. Dr. Shaweta Mohan, Assistant Professor, Department Of Physics, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar demonstrated the use of various types of Lenses and Mirrors used in Clinical Diagnostics. She explained the principle and working of Microscopes. The concept of fine focusing was taught to the students.
Principal Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra, motivated the students to gain proper knowledge about the working of various instruments useful in Clinical Diagnostics. Dr.Monika Bhardwaj, Co-ordinator of the course “Clinical Diagnostic Techniques” thanked the Principal and the resource person for training the faculty and the students. The faculty members including Ms. Isha Babbar, Ms. Ashima Mehra, Ms. Sonal, Ms.Bhawna, Ms. Dilpreet, Ms. Shahina & Mrs Gurmeet Kaur attended the workshop.
