Amritsar, Sept. 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The student of B.Sc(Med) Sem-lll and community college (Diploma in clinical Diagnostic Techniques) visited National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali. This trip was sponsored by DBT, STAR COLLEGE SCHEME and U.G.C. community college programme. The students were apprised with the applications of latest scientific equipment used in pharmaceutical and diagnostic fields. They learnt the fundamental principal of X-ray Diffraction, UV-spectrophotometer, Automic adsorption spectroscopy, GAS chromatography, GCMS, Liquid Chromatography Mass spectrometer and High Resolution Peptide Mass. The students were taken to the laboratories having the instrumentation for the analysis of proteins and peptides with a primary focus on protein Identification and characterization. The students also visited Shimla visualizing the Biodiversity of fauna and flora. On the whole, this industrial cum field trip was very useful for the academic upliftment of the students.
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra felicitated the faculty of Department of Zoology including Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Ms. Isha Babbar & Ms. Ashima Mehra who accompanied the students to the educational trip. Mr. Vinod and Ms. Shahina, Lab – technicians accompanied the students.
