Lecture on ‘Domestic Violence Act’ and ‘Hindu Succession Act’.  At BBK DAV College

Amritsar, Oct. 12 (Punjab Post Burea) – “Women Empowerment Forum” and “Legal Literacy Club” of BBK DAV College for Women organized a lecture by Mr. Vipan Bhasin, an eminent advocate of the city on ‘Domestic Violence Act’ and ‘Hindu Succession Act’. He educated the students about the laws and also explained about the emotional, psychological & physical aspects of violence. He also elaborated that the aim of law, is not only to provide punishment to the wrong doer but also create mechanism to provide relief to the victim. He made students aware regarding the rights of women related to property issues. He advised students to raise voice against domestic violence.

Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra addressed and motivated the students to empower themselves in all possible ways. Mrs. Renu Bhandari, Mrs. Manju Duggal, Mrs. Sushma, Mrs. Shelly, Mrs. Shweta were present on the occasion.
