Historic Khalsa College to Host `Alumni Meet’ on Nov 29

Amritsar. Nov. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau)-The historic Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) will be hosting its annual Alumni Meet’ on November 29. The prominent ex-students of the College including legendary Cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, Olympian Kartar Singh, Film Actor Parveen Kumar, pop singer Amarinder Gill , Lakhwinder Wadali, renowned eye surgeon Dr.Daljit Singh and dramatist Atamjit and Kewal Dhaliwal are likely to arrive as more than 500 ex-students are expected at the College’s Alumni meet, said Principal Dr.Mehal Singh.

He said various high level meeting in this regard were held at college campus to make the meet memorable for the ex-students as the old students would be honoured, history of the 125 year old College would be told through hi tech projectors, walks through the corridors and a cultural function will be arranged for the former students. He said the invitations are being sent to alumni residing in foreign countries as well as in India. “In the Meet different programs related to Punjabi Culture would also be organized, said he.

Apart from holding the Welcome and Interactive Session, a fair and sports events would also mark the meet. As KCA has rich educational and heritage history dating back to 122 years, there is a huge number of alumni having, national and international fame. “The objective of the meet is to provide an opportunity to alumni to share their sweet memories’’, said Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina.
