Three day football tourney off to colourful start at Khalsa College Senior School

PPN1302201608Amritsar, Feb. 13 (Dharmenera Singh Rataul) – A three-day-long Amritsar Gold Cup Football tournament today kicked off to a colourful start at Khalsa College Senior Secondary School ground, here.  At least sixteen football teams from all over the state are taking part in the tournament, which is being organized by the Khalsa Football Club in association of the Khalsa School. In total five matches were played in the fierce struggle to grab the cup. First match was won by Medical College Club which defeated Young Star Club while in second match Sultanwind Club defeated Kotla Sultan Singh Club. In third match Thathi Khara defeated Gill Club Ferozepur and the fourth match was played between Chak Sikandar and Ajnala Club and while fifth match was played between Pandori ran Singh and Punjab Academy. Earlier Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Sigh Chhina formally inaugurated the tournament along with SP, Punjab Police and football player Kuljit Singh and Khalsa Club President Joginder Singh Mann. Manvinder Singh was the commentator.  Principal Nirmal Singh Bhangu, Babab Baljit Singh, Karamveer Singh from USA, Amarbir Singh from BSF were present.
