Amritsar, April 8 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The foundation Day of Arya Samaj was celebrated with great zeal at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. A Havan was organised in the school Yagyashala on this occasion to propagate the message of the founder of Arya Samaj , Swami Dayanand Saraswati and disseminate the tenets of Arya Samaj among people. The members of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Sh.Tarsem Mahajan , President Bharat Vikas Parishad , Amritsar , Main branch, Mr. Nanish , Secretary , Mr.Sudhir Bajaj , Treasurer and Former National Convenor , Mr.J.S Nagpal ji , senior member , Bharat Vikas Parishad were the eminent guests present on this occasion. Sh.Tarsem Mahajan, appreciated the efforts of the Principal, Dr.Neera Sharma and the school for spreading awareness among the masses about the prevailing evils in the society like dowry, female foeticide, child labour , drug menace etc.The Principal of the school , Dr.Neera Sharma was honoured by Bharat Vikas Parishad, on this occasion for her exemplary efforts for the cause of society.
Regional Director , Punjab Zone – A , Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr.Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate , Amritsar sent their best wishes to the students on this occasion. In their message to them, they said that the call ‘Back to Vedas’ formed the bedrock of the teachings of Swami Dayanand . Swami Dayanand enlightened the society by preaching against many meaningless customs and traditions and aimed to spread education and equality for all . They asked the students to imbibe the principles of Arya Samaj in their life for a peaceful living.
Expressing her gratitude and thanking the distinguished guests present , Dr. Neera Sharma said that she wished to see the youth of the country emerging as honest leaders and responsible citizens enthused with National pride. She added that Arya Samaj believes in ‘Honest Living’ and the ‘Law of Karma’ and said that we must do good deeds and give happiness to others with our actions. She asked the students to rise above the superstitions and evils prevelant in the society and follow the path shown by the Vedas for a meaningful life.
