
Jammu, June 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Rising Star Corps celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 21st of June this year in which Military stations of Mamun, Jammu and Yol showed wholehearted support to the cause. All rks participated with great fervor and high spirit. The objective was to encourage troops to imbibe yoga as an answer to modern day stresses through this ancient yet quintessential heritage of India. The same set of exercises according to the common yoga protocol, was performed in all stations on the same day and time.
All Military Stations of the Rising Star Corps had drawn up an action plan with several activities in which participants from all units of the stations were invited to join in large numbers. To commence the day, Open Air Yoga sessions started at respective unit locations with about more than ten thousand participants taking part in all. Women and children also actively participated in the same. During the 40 minute session, various yoga exercises were performed to educate the participants about Yoga and various benefits from it. This was followed by an awareness brief about healthy lifestyle, conveyed for the benefit of all. The Yoga session ended with all participants pledging to imbibe lessons of physical and mental fitness to lead a stress free and contented life.
