BBK DAV Wins Gndu Inter-College Basketball Championship

 Amritsar, Dec 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Basketball team of BBK DAV College for Women has won GNDU Inter-College Basketball Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College team gave a splendid show by defeating BUC College, Batala, HMV College, Jalandhar, HK College, Kapurthala and S.R. Govt.  College, Amritsar. Six players of the team Ms. Amanbir Kaur, Shikha, Somi Kumari, Samriti, Shabnam and Sukhjinder Kaur got selected for All India Intervarsity Championship to be held at Bhubaneshwar, Orrisa from 22^nd to 28^th December 2016. Members of the winning team were Amanbir Kaur, Shikha, Somi Kumari, Samriti, Shabnam, Karanjeet Kaur, Akwinder Kaur, Sukhjinder Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur, Harjit Kaur & Gurpreet Kaur. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV is a forerunner in sports. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, along with other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
