Swachhata Pakhwada at Amritsar Military Station

 Jalandhar, 7 December (Punjab post Bureau) – In consonance with cleanliness drive, Army continues to be on the forefront of environmental issues and as such has also taken to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on a war footing. In this ongoing drive a “Swachh Bharat Pakhwada” is being observed in all unit locations of the Panther Artillery Brigade. Units of Panther Artillery Brigade have formed task forces to ensure execution of various activities with a gamut of environment activities. The focus of the drive is on Generation Next since “doing something continuously become a habit” and thus if young minds are emphasised upon the importance of Swachh Bharat today, the mission of Swachh Bharat is bound to be a success.

        The Cleanliness drive shall include a wide spectrum of activities including green drive lecture-cum-demonstrations on “Disposal of Bio-degradable & non bio-degradable waste”, demonstration on “Creation of Kitchen Garden Compost Pit from Kitchen waste”, debate on Swachhta and various lectures on the subject, lecture on House Waste Disposal and ‘No Plastic Zone’ and cleaning of areas adjoining units in consonance with Municipal Corporation.
