Amritsar, January 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women organised a candle march ‘Walk for Democracy’ in the college campus to create awareness among the young voters regarding their voting rights.

This march was organised as a part of Election Commission Initiative ‘SVEEP’- Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation. While addressing the students, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia emphasized the importance of the awareness amongst the young voters about their voting rights. She appealed the students to be an active part of the largest democracy of the world and cast their vote to the deserving candidates.
Gurleen of BA Semester-IV stood first, Ritika of BFA Semester-II stood second and Soniksha of B.Com Semester-II stood third in Rangoli Competition organised as a part of this campaign in the college premises. Mrs. Bimal Bassi, Social Activist and Mrs. Renu Bhandari, Head, Department of Political Science, along with other faculty members, also participated in the march.
