An Eye Hospital and Kindergarten School on the cards
Mumbai, June 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To achieve the aim of protecting the young saplings of distinct Sikh
identity in Mumbai, Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) has established a Gurudwara Sahib built in eminent traditional style but equipped with all modern technologically facilities in Sri Guru Harkrishan Bhawan, Mumbai. Sri Guru Granth Sahib was brought and installed in Gurudwara Sahib while following all sikh principals and maryada amidst religious hymns. In a grand Kirtan Darbar organized on 25-6-17 in newly built Gurudwara Sahib attracted a large number of Sikh devotees of Mumbai. Kirtani Jatha recited Shabad Kirtan in melodious voice and filled the atmosphere with an aura of spirituality and mysticism .
In a press release issued from CKD head office, President Charanjit Singh Chadha commented that in 1992, Mata Laaj Kaur Chadha donated a piece of Land in Andheri East, Mumbai ,a prime location near Airport, with a wish that the land should be used for welfare purpose. but the CKD Management of that time did not took any initiative for the purpose. Within a year after the existence of new Management In 2004, Seven storey building named Sri Guru Harkrishan Bhawan with super layout and structure was decided to be built on donated land where Sikh principals and religious teachings were to be instilled in the minds of sikh youth in order to associate them with their roots. Bhawan was built by CKD with modern infrastructure which now caters to the reception of guests with spacious rooms with attached bath rooms. Two most modern elevators, spacious and functional meeting rooms, community rooms ideal for seminars and conferences are also housed in Bhawan.
Chadha further said that Former President inaugurated Sri Guru Harkrishan Bhawan in 2012 with the announcement of 10 lakh for the further development of Bhawan but CKD has not yet received the financial assistance announced at the occasion. With the tireless efforts of CKD Local Committee Mumbai President Kulwant Singh Kohli Vice President Pritpal Singh and donation of 6 lac by Jagjit singh (who also donated 25 lacs for oldage home in Amritsar) and financial support from CKD continuous development of Bhawan is going on. Chadha declared to build shortly an Eye Clinic and a Kindergarten School in Sri Guru Harkrishan Bhawan, Mumbai.
