“Know Our Forces” Theme organised by the Vajra Corps

Jalandhar Cantt , Aug. 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To commemorate the Independence Day, a Military Equipment Display was organised at Katoch Stadium, Jalandhar Cantt on 11 and 12 Aug 2017 by the Vajra Corps. The grand weapon display was organised as part of the “Know Our Forces” initiative with an aim to increase awareness about the Armed Forces and for motivating the youth of the country to join the Armed Forces.

            The weapon display was inaugurated by Lieutenant General BS Sahrawat, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps. Addressing the gathering the Corps Commander said that the Indian Army has made noteworthy contribution in Nation building, apart from delivering decisive blows to the enemy wherever required.  He emphasised on the professional values of physical & mental fitness, knowing your job well & self discipline amongst all troops of the Vajra Corps as imbibed in the values of the prestigious Indian Army. The General Officer also called upon the youth of the country to join the Indian Army and serve the Nation.

            The weapon display was attended by large number of students from local schools like Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vajra Army Pre Primary School and many other prominent schools of Jalandhar City.  The event was also attended by NCC cadets who came in large numbers.

            The might of the Indian Army was showcased in the Equipment Display which included long range Artillery Guns, versatile & lethal Tanks, state of the art Infantry weapons, modern Surveillance equipment, Hi Tech Communication equipment, Specialist vehicles and many more lethal advanced weapons.

            The Olive Greens and Combat Fatigues left a lasting impression on the local audience and the youth who were fascinated by an excellent and highly motivating event showcased by the Army.
