Birthday of Art Galary Founder SG Thakur Singh celebrated

 Amritsar, Sept. 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 118^th Birth anniversary of SG Thakur Singh was celebrated in the premises of Indian Academy of Fine Arts, a very prestige institution in field of art. Padam Shree SG Thakur Singh was the founder of this temple of art. Art Gallery celebrate birthday anniversary of SG Thakur Singh every year. A sketch competition of Shree SG Thakur Singh was organized by the students of painting classes. Cash prizes were given to the winners.  

Indian Academy of Fine Arts is organizing the exhibition of Painting to pay tributes to the legendry Artists of the century “Padam Shri S.G. Thakur Singh”. “SG Thakur Singh” played a very pivotal role for the promotion of art in the region even in those days when the whole country was in the hands of British. Even the British queen was fascinated with his work and invited him to England to make paintings in Buckingham place. The government of India acknowledged his art and awarded him with Padam Shri in the year 1973. President Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina paid the tributes to SG Thakur Singh. The renowed members of Art Gallery present includes Dr. PS Grover, AS Chamak, Narinder Singh, Atul Mehra, Karamjit Singh etc.
