Swar Saanjh organized at GNDU

Amritsar, Sept. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  A musical program ‘Swar Saanjh’ was organized by the Department of Music of the Guru Nanak Dev University in collaboration with SPIC MACAY chapter in Amritsar in Auditrioum of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of the University.  A large number of faculty members, researchers, students and employees were present.

Prof. (Dr.) Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean Student Welfare inaugurated the programme.  Prof. (Dr.) Gurpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Music welcomed the Chief Guest, Distinguished Guests and eminent Artists.  Eminent Sitar Maestro Pandit Prateek Chaudhuri from Seniya Gharana presented a remarkable and melodious Sitar recital. The Maestro presented Raga Patdeep.  Shri Prabhakar Kashyap, a disciple of Padam Bhushan Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra added more flavor to the programme by presenting his vocal recital in Raga Bairagi.  Students of Music Department performed a Sufi Dance and enthralled the audience. Two music albums of the department of Music were also released on this occasion. Dr. Rajesh Sharma compered the programme.
