BBK DAV College Women Lifts Gndu Inter-College Korfball Championship

Amritsar, Sept. 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Korfball team of BBK DAV College for Women won the GNDU Inter-College Korfball Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College team put up a splendid show by defeating HMV College, Jalandhar, SD College, Dinanagar and GNDU Campus Amritsar.

Team members are Ms. Somi Kumari, Samriti, Akwinder Kaur, Sukhjinder Kaur, Harjit Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Rajandeep Kaur, Sadhvi, Preeti Kumari and Lovepreet Kaur. Four players of the college Ms. Somi Kumari, Samriti, Akwinder Kaur and Sukhjinder Kaur have been selected for All India Intervasity Championship going to be held at Hyderabad in Feb. 2018.

Congratulating the players on their remarkable performance, Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Mahajan, Dean Colleges Development Council, Amritsar, Dr. Shivaji, Head, CTVS Dept., Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar and Sh. Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee, motivated them to perform well in future championships.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia appreciated the hard work of the players. She added that BBK DAV College for Women has always provided its players with the state-of-art infrastructure and other necessary facilities; that is why, the college players have always made a mark in various national and international events. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, & Korfball Coach Ravinder Singh, along with the other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
