Amritsar, Oct. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 490 Items of art works having paintings, graphics, drawings, sculptures,
photographs- from across the country are being displayed for 15-days in 83rd All India Art Exhibition, which was opened at the Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA). The art works ranging from landscape, portrait, and life sketches, spiritual experiences and modern art are on the display. IAFA had been organizing the exhibition as an annual feature at the gallery since 1932.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Padam Shree Biman B. Das Chairman AIFACS New Delhi. Hon. General Secretary Dr. P.S Grover told that record number of 800 art works from 431 artists from all over India was received for the Exhibition cum competition.
President Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina announced that awards worth Rs.4 Lakh were given to the awardees adjudged by a national acclaimed jury having Janab Sadare Alem, Mr. Kalicharan Gupta and Jatinder Singh Brar.
Shivdev Singh Vice President & Convener of 83rd All India Exhibition of Art 2017 said they received high–class art works which has been included in the catalogue containing details of the paintings was also released. A colorful cultural programme with the Soulful Ghazal Evening by Prof. Ms. Richa Aneja & Vijay also marked the occasion. Dr. Arvinder Singh Chamak was the convener of programme of Ghazal.
Twenty Two artists were given prizes: first 51,000/- Ms. Satwinder Kaur from New Delhi to Second Prize 31.000/- to Dr. Kusumlata Sharma from Bhopal. Ten cash Awards 21,000/- and Ten Cash Awards of 10,000/- each Nine Highly Commanded Certificate with cash 1100/-.
Two Life time Achievement awards were given to Dr. K.S Manchanda, & Ramesh Kumar Verma for their exemplary contribution in field of art. The function was well attened by the luminary of Amritsar like Architect Mohinderjit Singh, Gopal Kirodiwal, Narinder Singh Sculpture, Atul Mehra, Karamjit Singh, Subash Chander, Pushpinder Singh, Sukhpal Singh and many more.
