Amritsar, October 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A two days “Accessibility Design Workshop” was inaugurated here today at the Department of Architecture of Guru Nanak Dev University. This workshop is being organized by Department of Architecture of the University. In this workshop faculty and students of Department of Architecture and Guru Ram Dass School of Planning and Local Alumni of the department participated. The objective of this workshop is to sensitize the students of Architecture towards the needs and aspirations of the differently abled so that the buildings & the built environment may be designed accordingly. An eminent Architecture professional Dr. Gaurav Raheja, Associate Professor, Department of Architecture & Planning, I.I.T., Roorkee, conducted lectures and interactive sessions with the faculty and the students on this occasion. Ar. Meenakshi Singhal, Head, Department of Architecture welcomed Dr. Gaurav Raheja and introduced him to the audience. She said that the students of the department are highly enthusiastic to take back a bagful of learnings from the workshop.
