BBK DAV College Women Lifts Gndu Boxing Inter-College Championship

Amritsar, Nov. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Boxing team of BBK DAV College for Women has won the GNDU Boxing Inter-College Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College team put up a splendid show by defeating S.R. Govt. Amritsar, Khalsa College for Women Amritsar, KN College Phagwara, B.D Arya College, Jalandhar, DIPS College Jalandhar, SD College Gurdaspur, SD College Jalandhar, RRMK College BAS College Gurdas Nangal and GN Khalsa College BABA Sang Dhessia.

Team members are Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Jagdeep Kaur, Parminder Kaur, Ranjana, Sandeep Kaur, Navdeep Kaur, Deepika, Karamjeet Kaur, Harmandeep Kaur and Rajbir Kaur. Six players of the college Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Jagdeep Kaur, Parminder Kaur, Ranjana, Sandeep Kaur and Navdeep Kaur have been selected for All India Inter-University Championship going to be held at Chandigarh in January 2018.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV College for Women is a forerunner in sports. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head Department of Physical Education, Boxing Coach Mr. Baldev Raj along with other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
