AVM welcomes the resumption of Non-Stop Amritsar Birmingham Flight

Amritsar, Nov. 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Amritsar Vikas Manch has welcomed the announcement of twice weekly non-stop flight between Amritsar-Birmingham from early 2018. Manch Patron Dr. Charanjit Singh Gumtala said that they have been lobbying for the resumption of Birmingham, London, Toronto flights for many years and in January 2017 filed a Public Interest Litigation in Punjab & Haryana High Court. We are thankful to MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi (Slough) for initiating talks with Govt. of India and MP Preet Kaur Gill from Birmingham Edgbaston for the support to this effort. Manch is also thankful to Lok Sabha Member Gurjeet Singh Aujla and Rajya Sabha Member Shwait Malik for raising the issue of Air India direct flights from Amritsar inside and outside the Parlianment. We hope that Amritsar-London and Amritsar-Toronto direct flights will also follow.
