Amritsar, Mar. 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab Budget 2018 is indeed a stellar effort made with empty coffers. In A press release Gunbir Singh Ex Chairman of CII Punjab said that the Endeavour of the state budget is to provide for civic infrastructure, healthcare for the citizens and quality education for the youth while keeping in sight the election promises of assuaging farm debt & providing for power to industry at Rs. 5 per unit. To the Finance Ministers credit the fiscal deficit inherited by him was over 12%, which was contained during last year to 4.6%, & the aim is to bring it to a desired 3.5% within the 2018 budgets purview. The challenge of surmounting debt is likely to continue its upward spiral, and the biggest Challenge shall be raising finances, garnering investment & creating employment, Gunbir Singh said.
