Chief Khalsa Diwan to set up Cancer Care Hospital in collaboration with TATA Group in Amritsar

PPN0604201806Amritsar, Apr. 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society (CKD) in collaboration with TATA Group is going to establish well equipped Cancer Care Hospital in Amritsar shortly. The Cancer Care hospital by CKD aims to take initiative to provide affordable cancer treatment that is accessible and nearby to the resident patients. The Hospital would be modelled on the TATA Memorial Hospital, the renowned cancer care Institute in Mumbai.  Hospital would be  constructed by TATA Group with a cost of approx. Rs.100 crores within 9 months at 10 acre CKD land situated in Amritsar wherein  100 bedded General Hospital attached would also be  built by Chief Khalsa Diwan.   Chief Khalsa Diwan Management had a crucial meeting today in this context with Mr. R.Venkataramanan Managing Trustee TATA Trusts and Mr. Chandrasekaran Chairman TATA Group.  Speaking on the event President Dr. Santokh Singh commented that since detection of cancer symptoms early is key to providing effective treatment, the proposed move by CKD in association with TATA Group to set up a cancer care Hospital in Amritsar aims to bring cancer treatment closer to the patients’ home city while simultaneously he emphasized on awareness, screening, and early detection of cancer which may help to comprehensive cancer prevention and timely treatment.  Honorary Secy. N.S Khurana also emphasized to provide better facilities for the care of cancer in Amritsar where patients travel significant distances for treatment. Mr. R.Venkataramanan Managing Trustee TATA Trusts and Mr. Chandrasekaran Chairman TATA Group were honored by CKD President Dr. Santokh Singh, Vice President Dhanraj Singh and Sarabjit Singh, Resident President Nirmal Singh, Honorary Secretaries N.S.Khurana and Surinder Singh Rumalian wale, Sawinder Singh Kathunangal, Rajmohinder Singh Majithia, J.S Advocate, Kuljit Singh Sahni, Ranbir Singh Chopra and other CKD members were present in the meeting.
