Gurjeet Aujla welcomed the decision of center govt. to provide special financial assistance to all religious bodies serving free langar

Amritsar, June 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla welcomed the decision of center government to provide special financial assistance to all religious bodies that serve free langar to devotees and needy. Terming this decision as ‘der ayad durust ayad’,  Aujla said that though it shall not be a healthy practice to do politics on such a matter but still there are some who want to get some political mileage. Aujla ridiculed that our Minister of State Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal has copied her father-in-law’s modus operandi very well by announcing to resign from her post when she came to know that center’s policy in this regard is about to be announced. Aujla asked Smt. Badal to explain to the sangat that why didn’t she announced to resign in July 2017 when the union imposed the tax on langar and or why she didn’t announce to resign when Capt. Amarinder Singh cancelled SGST on langar and the union Govt. was playing hide and seek over this matter.  He said that Congress government’s stance on GST over langar was quite clear when Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh waived off SGST from langar. He said that Congress leaders, religious and social organizations and Sikh sangat has been reminding the center to do their part in this regard since the waiver of SGST over langar. He thanked Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, PPCC Chief and Gurdaspur MP Sh. Sunil Kumar Jakhar, MP Sh. Ravneet Bittu, MP Choudhary Santokh Singh, MP Shamsher Singh Dullo, Lok Sabha MPs who joined him when he was protesting on the parliament floor and the Congress high command to pressurized the government for this decision.
