Amritsar, Aug 16 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Youth of Amritsar endured the selflessness of great patriots like Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh they cried to the numbers highlighting the sacrifice of Indian soldiers and they danced to the inspiration of nation building, thanks to SAM a unique youth initiative that enthralled Amritsar today at the Trillium Mall on the ocassion of 68th Independence Day. The event saw a complete blend of inspiring music, dance, dramatics and orations on the theme, ‘Embrace the National Flag’. “We position SAM as a workshop developed by the youth and for the youth, using youthful tools for directing young minds in a positive direction. At SAM workshops, music, dance and drama presentations not just serve as a base to catch the attention of youth but also raise varied aspects related to the theme of the workshop,” informed Kalpana Sharma, PRO, SAM
In its journey that began in 2009, SAM has travelled to several cities of the country like Delhi, Bangalore, Dehradun, Shimla, Bhopal, Indore, Pune, Punjab, Mumbai, Chennai, etc. sensitizing youth on several important issues which concern them in their regular life and also those which are important to the nation at large. While issue like lack of concentration, low productivity, superiority and inferiority complex, distressed relationships, etc. constitute the former category, the latter covers broader issues like nation building, cultural renaissance, drug abuse eradication, women empowerment, brain drain, etc. Under its special edition event, SAM set people of Amritsar on an enthralling experience this Independence Day. This special edition of SAM familiarized the audience with the tales of freedom struggle through dramatics presentation of popular Delhi based performing arts group Eternal Splendour. It filled them with inspiration to stretch to any limits for their nation, when one of the nation’s heartthrob fusion band Eternal Bliss presented its mesmerizing numbers for the people of Amritsar. An awe inspiring dance performance by the members of Eternal Splendour and impeccable comic timing of stand up comedian and television actor Siddhant Sagar completed the package of SAM’s special edition designed for the audience of Amritsar.
“At SAM we believe that love for your nation is not just a one-time feeling, which is aroused by such catchy performances alone, rather it should be a driving force for everything you do. The feeling of nation building is therefore the edifice on which the entire SAM series is designed and its every edition is aimed at highlighting one or the other aspect of the same. The youth is first attracted to SAM for its vibrant presence, but stays with SAM for its commitment for the selfless recreation of the youth into a noble direction. This time SAM has come to Amritsar to sensitize youth on the areas of nation building and their role towards it,” explained Sadhvi Pragya Bharti. SAM Workshops is a connect program by the youth volunteers from different walks of life, who mange to voluntarily work for this selfless initiative of nation building. During the past 5 years, SAM Workshops have organized over 250 workshops which are extremely popular, delivering content that enriches the lives of youth with solutions for everyday problems that people face today. The movement for youth has successfully mobilized the attention of almost 2,000 participants per workshop and registered more than 5,50,000 in numbers from different walks of life.
