Amritsar, Sept. 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi written in Devnagri Script as the official language of the Union.
During the special programme presented by the students, they spoke about the importance of Hindi. They quoted Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who said that Hindi as a language will bind the whole nation and play an important role in spreading harmony. They enacted a short role play highlighting the importance of Hindi as a language and gave the message of promoting Hindi by taking pride in speaking it. The students recited poems and spoke about its history.
Also in this occasion, 22nd volume of ‘Tinka’, the Hindi Magazine of the school was released by the blessed hands of the Principal of the school, Dr. Neera Sharma. This annual magazine is handwritten, crafted and designed by the students of Std. VIII & X. The magazine is the mirror of the creative and visionary ideas of the students and it also shows the hard work and love of the students for the language.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar sent their best wishes to the students on Hindi Diwas and said that it is our duty to show respect to our National language and spread and promote it throughout the world.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school while addressing the students said that Hindi is our pride and we should aim at giving it a global status. She praised the teachers for their guidance and efforts to bring out the magazine every year.
