Amritsar, Jan. 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Aujla informed that UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) is a regional airport development and “Regional Connectivity Scheme” (RCS) of Government of India, with the objective of “letting the common citizen of the country fly”, aimed at making air travel affordable and widespread, to boost inclusive national economic development, job growth and air transport infrastructure development of all regions and states of India.
- Aujla further informed that flight operations to Patna and Jaipur will be handled by SpiceJet and Koltata by InterGlobe. He said that Amritsar airport got 3 out of 5 routes in Punjab which is a clear indication that airport as well as the arena is good for passenger and financial prospects so Government of India and airlines should consider beginning new flights operations from this airport.
