Four day workshop on Youth Empowerment and Skill Program at DAV College

Amritsar, 8 Feb. (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Department of Physics, DAV College organized a four day workshop on Youth Empowerment and Skill Program in collaboration with Art of Living Organization from February 4 to 7. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Sourabh Kapoor and Deepika for both post graduate and undergraduate science students. 18 students participated in this workshop.  The main aim of this workshop was to improve the overall performance of students besides boosting their confidence and enhancing their creativity.  Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated Dr. Sameer Kalia Head department of Physics for organizing such student centric workshop that will help students to relax from their burdened schedule. He also motivated students to participate in mind enhancing activities because only healthy minds can create healthy society.  While briefing about organization Dr. Sameer Kalia Head Department of Physics, said that Art of Living Organization is an educational and humanitarian movement which was founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shanker Ji in 1981 with the philosophy that we cannot achieve peace in world unless we have a stress free mind and violence free society. He further added that this four day workshop was also aimed to gear up students to excel both academically and professionally and it also focused on creating a harmony and a sense of belongingness amongst students.  While speaking on the occasion, Mr Sourabh said that we have taken this initiative to enhance the ability of youth to handle stress and elevate their functioning. This workshop comprised of group discussion, talks, and presentations, breathing exercises, yoga asanas and many more fun filled activities. He further added that this workshop will increase the concentration power of students and will make them more confident by developing leadership qualities in them. Dr. Neeru Gupta, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Maninder Kaur, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Narinder Arora, Dr. Rajiv Arora, Dr. Neerja Kalia, Dr. Vibha Chopra and Dr. Jagdish were also present during the talk.
