Teachers’ Day Celebrations at SGHPS  G. T Road

Amirtsar, September 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and to recognize the dedication and diligence of the teachers, the school celebrated the ‘Teachers Day’ with zeal and fervour. Dr. Dharam Veer Singh, Principal Director accorded warm welcome to the Chief Guest Dr. Harshindar Kaur , Deputy Medical Superintendent, Rajindra Hospital , Patiala , S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President  CKDCS  who presided over the function, Resident President S. Nirmal Singh and S. Harminder Singh Manager G.T. Road School. The entertaining display on the occasion included Welcome Song, Sufi Dance and Punjabi play. S. Charanjit Singh Chaddha in his key note address said that the role of the teacher is very challenging in giving the child a right direction and moulding his future. About thirty seven teachers from all schools run under the aegis of CKDCS were honoured for their meritorious services. Four teachers from the main branch were also honoured for having completed fifteen years of service. Mrs. Rajdawinder Gill, Headmistress was given a warm farewell and was honoured for her excellent service of thirty six years. The Principal in his motivational speech said that a teacher is a torch bearer who inculcates moral values in the students and helps to make them responsible citizens of tomorrow. The programme was enjoyed by the audience especially the foot tapping ‘Giddha’ which thrilled the audience. Dignitaries on the occasion present were Dr. Gurpal Singh (Patiala), S.
