Amritsar, March 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Cadets of NCC Army Wing, DAV College, Amritsar got selected for
national level training camps. It is pertinent to mention that selection criteria for these camps are quite difficult and it is only with the help of their firm self determination and hard work that the students got selected for this opportunity.
Cadet Sushant Pahwa got selected in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and he also got chance to get training with army officials during the camp. IMA is simply meant for training male candidates for a permanent commission into the Indian Army and he is first among all the cadets from district who got chance to learn the professional skills under this camp.
Cadet Rahul Kumar got selected for Advance leadership Camp, Ahmedabad. During this camp, various army officials briefed cadets regarding leadership qualities which are essential for the overall personality of a cadet. They expose young cadets to a `regimental way of life’ which is essential to inculcate in them the values of discipline, duty, punctuality, orderliness, smartness, respect for the authorities, correct work ethos, and self- confidence.
6 cadets also got selected for National Integration camp, Andhra Pradesh where the cadets participated in various competitions like drill competition, Debate and running championship. This camp also provides the opportunity to cadets to get in touch with the senior cadets and they also got chance to learn motivational lectures from famous persons from armed forces and from civil life.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated all the cadets for their selection and said it is very proud moment for DAV College that our cadets have been selected for national level training camps. He further added that such Camps provides practical manifestation of institutional training and the basic aim of such Camps is to introduce cadets to a disciplined way of life and helps in developing camaraderie, team work, leadership qualities, self-confidence, self-reliance and dignity of labour in the cadets.
Captain Kamal Kishore NCC Officer also appreciated the efforts of all the cadets and congratulated Commanding Officer Colonel Ashwini kumar for his sincere efforts. He also added that during such training camps, the cadets are exposed to the excitement of camp life where they apply the theoretical knowledge that they had gained in Institutional Training.
