Teej Festival celebrated at GNDU

Amritsar, August 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Department of Tourism and Hospitality of the Guru Nanak Dev PUNJ2008201907University organized a cultural program on the occasion of Independence Day and Teej Festival. A large number of students and faculty participated.

Professor Shweta Shenoy Head MYAS GNDU was the chief guest on this ocassion. Professor Sarbjot Singh Behl Dean Academic Affairs and Professor Hardeep Singh Dean Students Welfare were also present.

The colourful event started with National Anthem. Tricolour cake followed by cutting ceremony by chief guest along with students and faculty members. Teej Festival was celebrated with Punjabi folk songs and swings. Professor Shweta Shenoy appreciated the efforts made by the students and also communicated the true meaning of Freedom. She said that this type of events needed to organize to revive the spirit of freedom. She said that Teej is social festival in the month of monsoon which celebrates the bounty of nature.

 Professor Sarbjot Singh Behl shared his thoughts through a poem. Speaking on this occasion Professor Hardeep singh said that high values and traditions of our Country makes each of us proud to be citizens of this great Country. Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Professor Incharge presented vote of thanks.
