Production, DAV College Amritsar organized a workshop on photography for the celebration of “World Photography Day” on August 19, 2019. The main aim behind organizing such workshop was to help amateurs to learn technicalities involved in the field of Photography. Lovedeep Sohal, Photographer and Video Director in Punjabi Film Industry was the key resource person during the event. Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar along with Dr Arif Nazir, Head Department of MCVP gave a floral welcome to the guest.
Speaking on the Occasion, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that such intellectual workshops help in developing overall personality of students. He also added that such kinds of platforms helps students in getting hand on training to experience different modes cameras. He also congratulated sincere efforts of the department for organizing such platforms for students. Dr Arif Nazir Head Department of MCVP said that the department always strives hard to provide best practical and theoretical knowledge to students. He added that World Photography Day is worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography.
While briefing students about technicalities of Photography Lovedeep Sohal explained all the technical concepts of photography like the concept of Exposure Triangle, mainly Shutter, Aperture and ISO, role of Focus, Focal length and white balance plus different working modes of cameras i.e Program Mode, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual modes. He also focused on concept of lenses, their working and uses. While giving various examples, he also highlighted different features of camera and parts, besides their working and explained importance of good composition in photography.
Prof. Sania Arora, Prof. Vani Sharma, Prof. Saundarya Kochar, Prof. Roohi Sharma, Prof. Rajesh Talwar, Prof. Collin and Prof. Puneet were also present during the workshop.
