DAV Celebrates Diwali and Rishi Nirvan Diwas with Great Fervour

Amritsar, Oct 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Diwali celebrations marked gaiety at DAV Public School Lawrence Road. The auspicous festival of lights, when festivties are lined up one after the other, was charged with festive fervour symbolising triumph of good over evil. The school campus reverberated with the recitation of holy mantras spreading divinity around. The students presented a role play depicting the return of Lord Rama, the embodiment of truth and morality, after his victory over Ravana, who personifies evil. Through this presentation, the students reached out to everyone and gave the message of fighting the Ravana within them and try to imbibe the ideals of Lord Rama. The students also took a pledge to celebrate the festival in an eco–friendly way by saying ‘No’ to crackers.

          The students of the school also observed the day as the ‘Rishi Nirvan Diwas’. It was on this day that Maharishi Dayananda, the greatest reformer of Hinduism and founder of Arya Samaj left his physical body. The students remembered him for his tireless work for the political, religious and cultural emancipation of the country. The students paid tribute to Swami ji by taking a pledge to carry on with his mission and vision.

        Regional officer Punjab Zone – A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar sent their best wishes on the occasion of Diwali. They advised the students to create awareness among the masses to celebrate Diwali in a green, clean and safe way.

        Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school blessed the students and addressed them to celebrate a cracker free Diwali. She advised them to follow Vedic Values and always work for the integral strength of the nation.
