Army Conducts ‘Next of Kin’ Rally at Khadoor Sahib

Jalandhar, Dec 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A veteran outreach programme was organised at Khadoor Sahib Tehsil under the aegis of Double Victory Brigade. The army is observing 2019 as “Year of the Next of Kin” with the focus being on the welfare of the Veterans and their Next of Kin. Veterans and dependents turned up in large numbers to reaffirm their bond and continued association with the Armed Forces.

            The objective of the programme was to provide a platform to enhance interaction and mitigate concerns of Veterans, Disabled Soldiers, Veer Naris, Widows and their dependents.

            A team of Officers and Junior Commissioned Officers participated on behalf of Indian Army and addressed the problems being faced by the Veterans related to pension, ECHS and Canteen facilities. Grievances and concerns of the veterans were discussed in an interactive session.  There was a healthy participation from both the sides that saw many people reaching the location from far flung areas of District Taran Taran.  A large number of problems were addressed on the spot and noted down for follow up action with various institutions like Records Offices, District Soldier Boards and Pension Disbursing Offices/ Banks. The event was also a platform to motivate civilians and children who wish to join the Army.
