Amritsar, Jan 15 (Punjab Post Bureuau) – Indian Army celebrates Army Day on 15th Jan to commemorate Field 
Marshal General K.M Cariappa taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.
As a part of the nation vide celebration of the 72nd Army Day, today a Mini Marathon was organised by the Panther Division at Amritsar cantonment. The Mini Marathon was flagged off by Major General Vikram Singh Rathore General Officer Commanding, Panther Division. The aim of event was to foster civil military relationship, spread awareness about Indian Army amongst the local population and to inculcate and encourage healthy living and fitness practices.
The event was attended by approx 800 participants which included students, fitness enthusiasts and serving soldiers. Certificates of participation and medals were awarded to all who completed the Mini Marathon. The event was a trendy display of combined strength of the Army & local population coming together to promote healthy living and displayed the strength of youth of our great nation.
