Seminar on Traffic Awareness at SGHPS

Amritsar, Oct. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To sensitize the students about the importance of traffic rules, the Traffic Department  organized  a seminar for students at Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec.  Pubic School, G.T Road, Amritsar  which was also attended by the van drivers and auto rickshaw drivers. Shri Dhruman   Nimble (IPS) ADCP traffic presided over the seminar. S.Paramjit Singh Sub Inspector, S. Harjnder Singh and S. Surinder Pal Singh Traffic Marshals were resource persons for the occasion .Principal/ Director  Dr. Dharam Veer Singh formally  welcomed the guests. Lauding the efforts of the traffic department, he said that such seminars bring about the awareness about importance of traffic rules among the students. Sh. Dhruman, a very conscientious police officer with the help of a powerful PPT presentation pointed out to the fact that our own insensitivity towards the traffic rules and towards the pain of others lead to fatal accidents . He urged the students to earnestly follow the traffic rules in order to avoid accidents. S. Paramjit Singh Sub-inspector apprised the students about different reasons for the accidents , notably among  these are over speeding , non concentration of mind, under age driving, over loading of vehicles, use of mobiles while driving etc. S. Harjinder Singh and S. Surinder Pal Singh stressed upon the strict observance of traffic rules by one all especially the students as 35 % of the accidental cases are of youth. Pamphlets depicting different traffic signs were also distributed .Many queries were put forth which were answered to the best satisfaction  of all. S. Harminder Singh Member Incharge of the school was full of praise for the traffic department. The day ended with students’ pledge that they would always follow the traffic rules.
