State Govt. started a Hi-Tech & Prestigious water testing Laboratory in the holy city

Amritsar, Feb 5 (Punjab Post Burea) – Distt Amritsar is fortunate to receive such Hi-Tech and Prestigious Laboratory in the holy city Amritsar. Jaswinder Singh Chahl Senior Engineer of Water supply said that Govt has spent estimated amount of Rs 584.86 Lacs on this project. In this sum building Cost Rs 232.86 Lacs and Equipment cost Rs 352.00 Lacs. He stated that there are only three State level laboratories in Punjab i.e Hi-Tech Multi Distt. Laboratory Amritsar, Trade Water Effluent & Research Unit Patiala and Regional Advance water testing Laboratory SAS Nagar

               He said that Hi- Tech Multi Distt water testing Laboratory directly impact Amritsar and neighbor Districts in Northern region of Punjab

                Describing the Highlights of this laboratory he said that it is fully capable to conduct the testing of heavy metals in water like arsenic, aluminium, lead, admium, etc. He said that it can also conduct tests regarding Bacteriological parameters like presence of coli form in potable water. He stated that It is also capable of conducting waste water parameters like Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Dissolved Oxygen (DO). Beside the above said parameters it can also cater the basic chemical parameters and Cations and Anions of potable water. He said that Laboratory has a capacity to conduct 1200 samples per month.

                Mr. Singh said that primarily it caters the need of water testing of various Water Supply Schemes of DWSS, regularly conducts water testing of various Govt. Departments e.g. Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Punjab Mandi board, Muncipal Corporation Amritsar. He said that all the schools, College, university, Hospital or house Holds can utilize the facility.
