Amritsar, Nov. 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women, becomes Champion in One-Sided Affair and bags 3rd Inter-College Archery Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University. The Archery Wooden Team, Recurve Team and compound team BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, have won GNDU three inter-college Archery Championship Trohpies. The college archers gave a splendid show by defeating Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar and GNDU Campus.
In Archery Wooden Team of the college Baljit Won three Gold Medals and one Silver Medal, Sandeep won two Gold and Two Bronze Medals, Komaljeet won one Gold & one Silver and Chandeep won Gold Medal in 30mt, 50mt distance individual and team fight respectively. In Archery recurve team, Jasmine won One Gold & two Silver Medals. Rajinder, Sarbjit, Jagpreet, Harpreet and Seema also won Gold Medal.
In Archery Compound team, Priyanshu won three Gold Medals, Jaskaranpreet won one Gold and two Silver Medals, Anu Tiwari won one Gold and two Bronze Medals, Mandeep won one gold medal, Sandeep won one Gold Medal and Pooja also won one Gold Medal. It is pertinent to note that all these winners have been selected for All India Intervarsity camp going to be held at Kurukshetra from Nov 23 to Nov27, 2014.
Principal of the College Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and sport department HOD Mrs. Sweety Bala congratulated the students for their achievements.
