Kapurthala to start screening of children below 18 on pattern of mission Fateh-2

Caimpaign to start from June 17 to cover all households

 Kapurthala, June 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mrs. Deepti Uppal has announced that the district administration would start the screening of children below the age group of 18 by keeping in view the proposed third wave of covid.

            Today while addressing the district health committee meeting alongwith ADC G Rahul chabha, ADC Phagwara Rajiv Verma, Civil Surgeon Dr. Parminder Kaur, all SDMs, all SMOs at DAC she said that this campaign would be launched from June 17 on the pattern of Mission Fateh-2 to test the covid among children across the district.

            She said that as the medical experts suggesting the third wave arrival, the district administration would not wait to open the schools and the health teams comprising asha workers would visit the home to home to check the children who have covid symptoms.

            Terming it as an appropriate time to do this excercise, Deputy Commissioner said that as the positivity rate falls to 1.5 % in the district, the health teams must complete this task.

            She also asked the all health officials to ensure the bio medical waste Management in proper way from hospital besides visiting the private hospitals for cheking of bio medical waste Management.

            She also reviews the making of sarbat sehat bima yojna cards under which the Punjab Government has provided free treatment of Rs.5 lakh to the farmers, small traders, Journalists, construction workers etc.

            It may be mentioned here that the till now the district have witnessed coverage of 81348 families out of 109854 which makes it 74.05%. Deputy Commissioner asked the health officials to cover all the remaining families in next 10 days as it’s a flagship program of the Punjab Government.

            She also asked the SMOs to speed up the covid vaccination as the Punjab Government has included more categories like shopkeepers, rehriwalas , students , elected representatives etc. District immunization officer Dr. Randeep singh has informed that till now nearly 1.60 lakh persons vaccinated in the district.

            Prominent amongst present on the occasion included that ADC Rahul chabha, ADC Phagwara Rajiv Verma, Civil Surgeon Dr. Parminder Kaur SDM Kapurthala Varinderpal singh bajwa, all SMOs and officials from industry, electricity and public health.
