Amritsar, June 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur strongly condemned the incident of sacrilege by a woman who set fire by pouring some inflammable substance at Gurdwara Sahib in Jaulian village near Bhawanigarh and demanded stern punishments against the culprits.
She said Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the universal Guru (master) of all mankind and those who commit sacrilege of this holy granth should not be spared.
“The incidents of sacrilege are part of a well-planned conspiracy to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in Punjab. In most of the cases, even after the accused persons are arrested, they are not strictly interrogated, which has given encouragement to such people and such incidents are not stopping”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
“It is important to bring to light the hidden forces which are working behind these incidents and the government must be serious for the same. If police deals strictly with such elements who are committing sacrilege, no one can dare to do so”, said SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur.
SGPC president appealed to the Sangat (devotees) to keep a watchful eye and remain alert about the Gurudwaras and take immediate action if any mischievous miscreant is suspected.
