SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur visits Jaulian village Gurdwara Sahib

Gives Rs.10 lakh grant for damaged building of Gurdwara Sahib

Sangrur/Patiala, June 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee  president Bibi Jagir Kaur on Tuesday visited Gurdwara Sahib in Jaulian village in Bhawanigarh area of Sangrur district, where a woman set the gurdwara on fire in the recent past.

Bibi Jagir Kaur held a meeting with the gurdwara management committee and villagers to ascertain the ground situation about the fire incident.

SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Sangat for the repair of the building damaged with the fire at Gurdwara Sahib.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The government should take strict action against the culprits behind this sacrilege incident and send such forces behind the bars after booking them under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) law.”

Bibi Jagir Kaur appreciated those Sikhs who saved the Holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from the fire at Gurdwara Sahib and announced Rs.13000/- for each of them as appreciation amount.

SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “On the recommendation of the management and residents of village Jaulian, the SGPC will recruit two Sikh youths and give them training of Gurbani Kirtan to connect the Sangat with Gurbani at village Gurdwara Sahib and flourish the faith through Gurmat training camps.”

The present on the occasion incudes SGPC executive committee members Satwinder Singh Tohra, Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, Baldev Singh Chunghan, Teja Singh Kamalpur and Head granthi Giani Bhai Harpal Singh of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and others were present.
