Gaiety Marks Children’s Day Celebration

Amritsar, Nov. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Gaiety marked the celebration of Children’s Day, the 125^th birth anniversary of the beloved Chacha of Children, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru , the first Prime Minister of free India at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road , Amritsar . The celebration commemorates Pt. Nehru’s affection for Children and his belief that children were the future of the country. If they were nurtured properly and educated well, the country’s future would be bright. To make the day very special for the children, the morning assembly was conducted by the teachers. The teachers gave a scintillating performance and sang a mesmerising song for the students. The students were seen tapping their feet at the beat of the music and enjoyed each and every bit of the special assembly. The teachers Mrs. Yogita Sharma , Mrs. Neeru Mehta and Mrs. Jaspal Anand recited inspiring poems for the students and wished them bright future. Mrs. Benu Mittal , senior Science faculty member addressed the students and said that children were the precious gift of God. They were pure and innocent at heart. She requested the students not to lose their innocence to the vices around. She also advised them not to get addicted to the digital world and not let technology master them. She added that they should not worry about the past and future but live in the present and do their best. Mrs. Reman Sharma, senior S.St faculty and Supervisor Std IX & X in her address to the students said that this day is dedicated to the modern architect of India , Pt Jawahar Nehru. He had always called children the destiny of India. She asked the students to pay reverence to this great leader by gaining victory over self. She said it was the time to introspect and fulfill his dreams with our hard work and dedication towards our nation.

Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road , Amritsar sent his blessings for the students on this occasion. She said that children are our future and it is our duty to see that they are well educated for the bright future of the nation. The Manager of the school, Dr.K.N. Kaul Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate, Amritsar also blessed the students on this day and said that it was our duty to realise the dream of our first Prime Minister by educating all the children of the country and be responsible for their overall development. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Neera Sharma congratulated the students on their day. She added that the day was special but it also brings many responsibilities with it. Students must imbibe the values of sacrifice, brotherhood, tolerance and move ahead to make their country proud.
