Amritsar, Nov. 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 80th All India Art Exhibition was held by Indian Academy of Fine Arts Amritsar which included Appox. 500 paintings by various artists of repute from all over the country. The jury, headed by Padma Bhushan Mr. Jatin Das selected 250 paintings out of 500 in the first round and only 12 paintings were finally selected in the second round to be honoured with the National Award.
Dr. Lalit Gopal Prashar’s painting titled ‘Playing Speed’ was one amongst the finally selected list. He was honoured by Dr. Kalyan Kumar Chakrabaroty, Chairman Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi in a function held at Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar. He has already been honoured with 6 National level and 2 state level awards for his creative contributions. Dr. Lalit Gopal is working as Asst. Prof. in Design Dept. of BBK DAV College for Women. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra congratulated him and blessed him with further success in his career and he was also congratulated by Dr. Komal Sekhon, Dean Youth Welfare Dept. & Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, Head Design Dept., BBK DAV College for Women.
