Amritsar, Nov. 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road , in association with HDFC Bank organised Mahatma Hansraj Blood Donation camp to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj ji. Two days camp was held on Nov. 12 and Nov. 25 to encourage more people to come forward. The initiative to hold mass blood donation camps at various places taken by DAV College Managing Committee under the leadership of Arya Ratan Sh.Punam Suri President DAV CMC, New Delhi was well received by the people. Dr.Neera Sharma, Principal of the school was the first one from school to donate blood and inspire others to do the same. As many as 118 people from all walks of life came forward for this noble cause and donated blood. The donated blood was handed over to the Blood Bank Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. Many senior students and faculty members also participated in this camp.
Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school Dr. K.N. Kaul Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate appreciated the efforts of the school for taking the initiative. They added that this is the best way to serve humanity.
Dr. Neera Sharma said that she was happy to see the overwhelming response of the people who have come forward to donate blood. She said that out of all charity done, donating blood is the noblest. She encouraged people to shed all misconceptions related to blood donation and contribute in saving a life. She thanked all who had taken out time to be a part of this humane deed.
