Amritsar, Dec. 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) is a trust promoted by HLL Life Care Limited (a Government of India enterprise) established in 1992 for supporting implementation of public health programs. HLFPPT has been actively involved in program management services, capacity building, social marketing of health care products and service delivery, providing technical consulting and, conducting research, communication & advocacy services. HLFPPT has rich experience of designing and managing large scale interventions/programs.
HLFPPT is implementing the Vihaan Programme in Punjab State as Sub Recipient (SR) for phase II of the Global Fund Round 4 RCC grant through Alliance India. This programme is being implemented with a key objective to improve the survival and quality of life of People Living With HIV/ AIDS (PLHIV) by establishing 7 Care & Support Centres (CSCs) in Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Pathankot and Firozepur districts of Punjab State as part of national effort to improve treatment outcomes and meet the needs of PLHIVs, including those who are members of high-risk groups, women and children.
As you are aware that on 1st December, is observed as the world AIDS day. The purpose of observing AIDS day is to spread awareness on HIV/AIDS and to enhance the commitment of the community to combat the epidemic. HLFPPT in collaborations with Punjab State AIDS Control Society organized a Candle March today which was flagged off by Dr. Manpreet Chatwal – Additional Project Director – Punjab State AIDS Control Society. The rally started from Guru Nanak Dev Hospital 05.00 P.M. In this rally HLFPPT could convey the message that there could be a long and healthy life with HIV and the person living with HIV should not be discriminate. HLFPPT organized this candle March with the persons living with HIV/ AIDS, Care and Support Centre staff, State Level Network, District Level Network, ART Centre, Amritsar, Target Intervention staff and other participants linked with HIV/ AIDS programme.
