Mass events like PITEX boost peace and harmony – Ranike

Amritsar, 5 Dec. (Punajb Post Bureau) – Stressing on the need for more such endeavors as PHD-PITEX, Gulzar Singh Ranike, Minister for Fisheries, Poultry and Animal Husbandry, Government of Punjab said, “Only such endeavors as involve masses lead to establishing people to people contact, leading to greater mutual understanding, peace and harmony.”

The 5- day trade expo, PHD- Punjab International Trade Expo, 2014 was formally inaugurated by Gulzar Singh Ranike, here today, on the second day of the event. Earlier welcoming the delegates and the minister, Sharad Jaipuria, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “We at PHD Chamber are quite optimistic that consistent efforts to boost bilateral trade may see future collaboration in allowing mutual transit rights to each other.  India could gain rights to access Afghanistan through Pakistan.”

“PHD-PITEX, the international trade-show being organized annually at Amritsar is witness to major Pak participation each year,”, he added. PHD Chamber has been closely working with different Industry Chambers of Pakistan and holding talks for developing harmonious relations and inviting them to interact with the Indian Industry Associations and organising exclusive Indo-Pak trade shows at Ludhiana, Shimla etc. We vow to continue with our efforts for harmonious relations in the future as well, added Jaipuria.

“Back to back visits by Indian delegation to Pakistan and vice versa would help in pushing trade talks to the next level, reiterated Rajiv Bali, Chairman, Punjab Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi, Vice- President and leader of the delegation from Lahore chamber of Commerce & Industry stressed that both the governments should sit together and resolve the issues and such arrangements should be made that the political pressures do not affect the trade of the region.Ammar Atta Bajwa, President, Sargodha Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Haji Muhammad Zaheer, President, Jhelum Chamber Commerce & Industry were also present on the occasion. Harjeet Singh Grewal, Chairman, Khadi Board, Saurabh Sanyal, Executive Director, Dalip Sharma, Director and Jaideep Singh, Convenor, Amritsar Zone were also present on the occasion.
