Gndu wins All India Inter-University Taekwondo (Women) Championship

Amritsar, January 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Guru Nanak Dev University won all India Inter-University Taekwondo (Women) Championship with 55 points. MDU Rohtak and University of Kerala got second and third positions with 26 & 9 points, respectively.

This championship was organized in the Indoor Multipurpose Gymnasium of Guru Nanak Dev University Campus. As many as 1000 players of various 200 universities of the country participated in this championship.

Dr. Kanwar Mandeep Singh, In-charge Sports Department of the University said that in this championship, competitions of 49-53 kgs., 53-57 kgs. and +73 kgs were organized on the first day. On the second day, the competitions of 46-49 kgs, 57-62 kgs., Poomsae Indiv. And Poomsae Team were organized. The competitions of Under 46kgs, 67-73 kgs. and Mix Pair were held on January 11 and today, 62-67 kgs. competitions were organized.
